The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic protocol that balances the pelvic muscles and ligaments, reduces nervous system stress, and optimizes the mother’s pelvic function for pregnancy and birth. It is commonly used on pregnant women because it is a safe and effective way to relieve lower back, hip and pelvic pain.
The Webster protocol starts with a specific assessment of joints, muscles and ligaments of the lower back and pelvic region. From there, a gentle drop adjustment is performed along with muscle and ligament trigger point therapy to the areas of tightness or reduced movement. This treatment is often in addition to postural and sleeping recommendations, as well as at home stretching/strengthening routines.
During pregnancy is it common for women to suffer from:
- Low back & hip pain
- Sciatic nerve irritation
- S/I joint dysfunction
This protocol can help reduce tense muscles and ligaments that can prevent the baby from comfortably assuming the best position for birth. This allows for a more comfortable pregnancy not only for yourself but also for your baby!
GROWCO Post-Partum Rehabilitation!
GROWCO is a doctor-lead postpartum rehabilitation protocol created to raise the standard of care for women after delivery. We believe that moms deserve more than just a 6-week checkup when it comes to their recovery after childbirth. Moms continue to suffer from physical and emotion pain stemming from pregnancy and childbirth; many of which can be recognized and prevented early in the postpartum period.
GROWCO is striving to raise the standard of care for women everywhere! This program focuses on activating and strengthening not only your core and pelvic floor but also your whole body. As a GROWCO practitioner I am trained to assess and treat moms at any stage of postpartum to help prevent, reduce or resolve issues such as:
- Diastasis Recti
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Pelvic pain
- Low back pain
- Injuries common to new mommas
Did you know the healthcare system in France covers pelvic floor and abdominal training after birth? This means moms in France never have to worry about jumping, laughing or sneezing!
If you have recently had a baby, you should consider incorporating this postpartum rehabilitation class into your postpartum period. Your body has recently undergone tremendous changes and stress, regardless if your delivery was vaginal or c-section. It is crucial that your core and pelvic floor muscle functions are restored.
If you had your child some time ago, you may still be in need of restoring your core and pelvic floor. In some women the muscle function is restored quickly following delivery, while in others the dysfunction persists. This may show up as recurrent low back pain, inability to control your bladder when jumping or sneezing, or a persistent separation of your abdominal muscles.
