Chiropractic Overview

As part of the primary health-care system in Ontario, Chiropractors use a non-invasive, hands on approach to diagnose, treat, and prevent disorders related to the musculoskeletal and nervous system. It is important to know that chiropractors address not only the neck and back but any joint in the body as well as acute injuries to the extremities. The overall goal of treatment is to reduce pain, increase joint mobility and improve function.

Chiropractic treatment includes mobilization and manipulation of the spine as well as the extremities, soft-tissue therapy and lifestyle counselling. Addressing muscular tightness and imbalances is a vital component of the care received at NCR. Using a variety of soft tissue therapies such as: trigger point therapy, muscle release therapy and instrument assisted soft tissue therapy to alleviate muscle tension. All patients will receive education as well as rehabilitation exercises to improve their daily and athletic performance. Other modalities such as acupuncture or therapeutic laser may be used to supplement healing.
